Major arcana · XXI · Saturn
The World
The World is a cycle completed. It shows the satisfaction of finishing something well, and the readiness to begin the next thing.
Upright
- completion
- wholeness
- achievement
- integration
- fulfilment
The World shows a figure dancing inside a wreath, surrounded by the four living creatures of the corners. It is the end of the major arcana and the sign of a full circle. A goal is reached, a phase is whole, and the parts of your life are coming together. This card speaks of completion, of recognition and of the quiet satisfaction that follows long effort. You have grown, and you can see it.
Take time to mark the achievement before moving on. Look at how far you have come and what you now know. The card also reminds you that each ending is a doorway. The dancer holds a wand in each hand, ready to move. When you are ready, a new cycle will start, carrying everything you have learned. For now, finish well and appreciate it.
Reversed
- unfinished business
- delay
- loose ends
- almost there
- lack of closure
Reversed, The World points to something almost finished. A loose end, a final step or a lack of closure may be keeping a cycle open. You may be so close to the goal that the delay feels hard, or you may be avoiding the last piece because finishing means a change. Sometimes a result arrives without the satisfaction you hoped for.
Look for what remains and make a short list. A single remaining task, a conversation or a decision may be enough to close the loop. If the issue is a missing sense of accomplishment, take time to acknowledge what you have done. Completion is partly a decision. Once you have tied the ends, you will be free for what is next.
Love, work and money
- Love, upright
In love, The World shows fulfilment, wholeness and a bond that feels complete. A relationship may reach a milestone, or you may feel at peace with yourself and ready for a deeper connection. If you are single, a sense of being whole in yourself is a good place to meet someone from.
- Love, reversed
In love, reversed, a conversation or a decision may be left unfinished, keeping a relationship in limbo. Take the last step to bring clarity. If an old relationship feels unresolved, find closure in your own way, and make room for what is next.
- Work, upright
At work, the card marks success, completion of a major project and recognition of your efforts. A goal is reached. Celebrate it, share the credit, and reflect on what you have learned before you take on the next challenge. It can also suggest work with a wider or international reach.
- Work, reversed
At work, reversed, a project may be close to done but stuck on a last step. Identify what is missing and finish it. Do not skip the review that lets you learn from the work. Once complete, you can move on cleanly.
- Money, upright
With money, the card shows a goal reached and a sense of completion. Your efforts have brought a result. Take time to review how you got here, enjoy it and decide what you want your next cycle to hold. Think of this as a foundation for the next stage.
- Money, reversed
With money, reversed, a financial goal or a piece of paperwork may be left unfinished. Complete the final steps and tie off loose ends. A clear finish gives you a clean place to plan from.
Yes or no
- Upright: Yes
A cycle is completing in your favour, so the answer is yes.
- Reversed: Not yet clear
It is nearly there, so finish the last step before you expect a clear yes.
In the traditional image
A figure draped in a light scarf dances in the centre of a large green wreath, holding a wand in each hand. In the four corners of the card are an angel, an eagle, a lion and a bull, the four living creatures. Red ribbons bind the wreath top and bottom, and the sky is clear.
